Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people, and achieved superstar status through his pop-folk songs based on folk, most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and settled down in Aspen. A few beat a path through Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. I can't think of any other performer who embodies Colorado as well as John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first to be inducted into the hall. He has become the personification of Colorado for everyone around the world. Through my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform that you're from Colorado The first thing they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk-based bands was Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song using Johnny Cash's songs with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver was aware from the very first moment he listened to the first versions of the song that it could be a huge success. A few days after performing to an excited audience at Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
